6. Troubleshooting

Observe safety instructions! Have all serious malfunctions on the machine or engine repaired
W
by your agria workshop. They have the proper tools. Improper repairs can only add to the damage.
Problem Possible Cause
Petrol Engine:
Engine - Spark plug connector not connected
does not start - Choke is not pulled
- Engine shut-off switch is set to "O"
- Fuel tap closed
- Fuel tank empty or poor fuel
- Fuel filter clogged
- Defective spark plug
- Engine too much fuel
("flooded engine")
- Engine-off-line defective
- Inleaked air due to loose caburetor
and suction line
Misfirings in - Engine running in CHOKE range
engine - Loose ignition cable
- Clogged fuel filter or poor fuel
- Water or dirt in fuel system
- Air filter clogged
- Carburetor misadjusted
Excessive - Low engine oil level
temperature - Impaired cooling
in engine
- Air filter clogged
- Carburetor misadjusted
Misfirings in - Short firing intervals
engine - Incorrect idle mixture

at high speeds
Engine - Firing interval too long,
frequently defective spark plug
stalls - Carburetor misadjusted
in idle - Air filter clogged
Engine - Speed control linkages
does not run clogged or jammed

Remedy
Connect spark plug connector
Set choke lever to position CHOKE
Set engine shut-off switch to "I"
Open fuel tap
Fill fresh fuel
Clean fuel filter, check fuel supply
Clean, adjust or exchange spark plug
Dry and clean spark plug and
start at full throttle
Check line and connections
Tighten attachment bolts
Set CHOKE lever to operating position
Fit connector tightly on ignition cable,
fix ignition cable retaining device, firmly connect
spark plug connector to spark plug
Clean fuel filter, fill fresh fuel
Drain fuel and fill fresh fuel
Clean air filter
Re-adjust carburetor
Refill oil immediately
Clean cooling fan grid,
clean internal cooling fins
Clean air filter
Re-adjust carburetor
Adjust spark plug
Adjust carburetor
Adjust or replace spark plug
Re-adjust carburetor
Clean air filter
Clean speed control linkages
