The drives are mounted in drive carriers to simplify their installation and removal from
the chassis. These carriers also help promote proper airflow for the drive bays.
S tep Action
1 Verify the physical location of the disk to be replaced. Use the M anageTrends System Hardware Health
Information display to identify the physical slot of the failed disk drive. Hover the cursor over the failed
drive and a pop-up screen will appear. A drop-down menu button will appear at the top of the pop-up
screen. Click the drop-down menu button and an option to "Blink" the drive becomes available, as
displayed in the graphic below. When "Blink" option is selected the physical drive will blink for 5
seconds.
