8. Remove the enclosure from the rack. See the "Removing the Server Blade Enclosure
from the Rack" section in this chapter.
9. Place the enclosure on a level, nonconductive surface.
10. Open the access door. See the "Opening the Access Door" section in this chapter.
11. Disconnect the fan cable from the power backplane.
12. Remove the fan cage. See the "Fan Cage" section in this chapter.
13. Remove the hot-plug fans. See the "Hot-Plug Fans" section in this chapter.
14. Loosen the thumbscrew at the back of the fan cage (1).
15. Remove the fan backplane assembly from the fan cage (2).

Reverse steps 1 through 15 to replace the fan backplane assembly.

Integrated Administrator Module

The Integrated Administrator module removal procedure is the same for all three types of
interconnect trays.
To remove the Integrated Administrator module:
1. Power down each server blade. See the "Powering Down a Server Blade" section in this
chapter.
2. Power down the enclosure. See the "Powering Down the Enclosure" section in this
chapter.
3. Disconnect all cables and power cords from the AC power source.
4. Disconnect all cables and power cords from the enclosure rear panel.
