Switch o ff t he e ngine b efore s tarting a ny m aintenance
work. A hot engine can cause burns. W ear protective
gloves!
The s park p lug m ust b e r eplaced i n c ase o f d amage t o t he
insulator, electrode erosion (burn) or if the electrodes are
very dirty or oily.
Remove t he fi lter c over ( see " Cleaning t he a ir fi lter").
Pull the plug cap (9) o ff t he s park p lug. Y ou c an r emove t he
plug c ap b y h and.

The e lectrode g ap m ust b e . 024" ( 0.6 m m).
CAUTION: U se only the following spark plugs:
NGK C MR6A.

Checking t he i gnition s park
Press the loosened spark plug (10) with the ignition cable
firmly c onnected a gainst t he c ylinder u sing i nsulated p liers
(not near the spark plug opening).
Put c ombination s witch ( 11) i n t he " ON" p osition.
Pull t he s tarter c able h ard.
If the function is correct, an ignition spark must be visible
near the electrodes.

Checking t he m uffler s crews

Unscrew 3 screws (12) and remove the upper half of the
muffler (13).
Note: For saw models with catalytic converters (EA3200S,
EA3201S), remove the converter along with the upper muf-­
fler half.
The screws on the bottom muffler half (14) are now accessible,
and it is possible to check them for tightness. If they are loose,

tighten by hand (Caution: do not over-­tighten).
