Tightening The Saw Chain - Makita EA3200S Operator's Manual

Pull the chain (8) around the sprocket nose (10) of the guide
bar i n t he d irection o f t he a rrow.
Align hole on sprocket guard (4) with the pin (11).
Turn the chain tensioner (3, s ee " Tightening t he s aw c hain")
to b ring t he c hain t ensioner p in ( 12) into alignment with the
hole i n t he g uide b ar.
Push the sprocket guard (4) onto the pin (11).
Tightening t he s aw c hain
Simultaneously push in hard on the sprocket guard quick
tensioner (2) and turn it clockwise to screw the sprocket
guard o n, b ut d o n ot y et t ighten i t.
Raise t he t ip o f t he g uide b ar s lightly a nd t urn t he c hain t en-­
sioner (3) c lockwise u ntil t he s aw c hain i s fl ush a gainst t he
bottom o f t he g uide b ar ( see c ircle).
Push the sprocket guard quick tensioner (2) in again and
tighten b y t urning c lockwise.
Release the sprocket guard chain tensioner until it turns
freely, t hen f old i t i n b etween p rotective r ibs ( 15) as shown
in the illustration.
