Use the following procedure to start your server.
1. Turn on all external devices, such as the monitor.
After you plug the power cords into outlets, wait 20 seconds before

2. Press the power-control button on the front of the server. The power-on light
comes on and the power-on self-test (POST) begins.
The server can be turned on in several ways:
• You can press the power-control button on the front of the server to turn on the
server.
Note: If you have just plugged the power cords of your server into an
electrical outlet, you will have to wait approximately 20 seconds before
pressing the power-control button.
• If the server is turned on and a power failure occurs, the server will start
automatically when power is restored.
• The Netfinity Advanced System Management Processor also can turn on the
server.
