Read all of SAFETY and this section before attempting any procedure. Pay particular attention to Notices, Cautions, Warnings and Dangers.
Access the air cleaner element by unsnapping the clips on
the air canister and removing the cover and air filter element.
Clean inside of cover, canister and dust collector. Install the
element and cover. Be sure the positioning arrow on cover is
pointing upward and all clips are fastened securely.
If the element is in acceptable condition, loose dirt may be
removed by tapping the filter lightly. Do not use oil on the fil-
ter element or any part of the unit.

SPARK PLUG

Use care not to over tighten the plug. Over tightening can cause damage to the aluminum cylinder head
Remove and inspect the spark plug at intervals indicated in the Periodic Service
Schedule. The spark plug should be correctly gapped. Tighten to 16 ft. lbs. (22
Nm) torque.
A fouled spark plug is indicated by a wet, black appearance. This could be
caused by a dirty air filter element or other restrictions in the air intake system.
Incorrectly adjusted valves, a spark plug wire in poor condition, or poor quality
fuel could also contribute to the problem.

A subtle loss of performance can occur over time so it is important to establish the standard with a new vehicle.
The Periodic Brake Performance Test should be performed regularly as an evaluation of the braking system perfor-
mance. It is useful as a method of identifying subtle loss of performance over time.
