Troubleshooting

Check the following before requesting repair service.
Problem
The rice has not been cooked.
The food has not been cooked.
Rice was not cooked
completely by the preset time.
An alarm (3 beeps) sounds and
the Timer function cannot be
set.
An alarm (3 beeps) sounds
when the Timer function is set.
The display is blurred.
Sound is heard during cooking,
steaming, reheating, or when
the Keep Warm function is on.
Reheating is disabled.
Food adheres to the inner lid
during synchro-cooking.
Baking a cake takes a long
time.
Water or rice has entered the
main body.
When setting the present time,
pressing the [Hour] or [Min]
key does not access the time
setting mode.
The Keep Warm light is
blinking.
The elapsed Keep Warm time is
blinking.

Check point
Is the power plug properly connected to
an outlet?
Does the display show the correct present
time?
Check "Cooking time is too long" on p.38 and take the necessary action.
Does the display show the correct present
time?
Is "0:00" blinking on the display?
Was the "Synchro-Cooking",
"Mixed•Sweet", "Risotto", "Stew•Soup", or
"Cake" menu selected?
Was an unacceptable time set?
An alarm sounds if you do not operate the
rice cooker within about 30 seconds after
pressing the [Timer] key.
Are there any grains of burned rice or any
other remaining grains of rice adhering to
the gasket or the brim of the inner pot?
Is the outer surface of the inner pot wet?
Do you hear a ticking sound?
Do you hear a popping sound?
Do you hear a water bubbling sound?
(During cooking and steaming only)
Do you hear a completely different sound
from the above?
Does an alarm (3 beeps) sound when you
press the [Start] key?
Is the Keep Warm light off?
When cooking with ingredients that expand during heating, such as eggs etc., some
may adhere to the inner lid. If it is bothersome, reduce the amount of the ingredients.
If the power voltage is low, it may take longer than the standard time to completely
bake a cake. Extend the baking time if it is not completely baked.
Water or rice inside the main body may cause problems. Contact the JAPAN TIGER
CORPORATION.
The time cannot be set during cooking, when the Keep Warm function is on, when the
Timer function is in use, or during reheating.
When the "Risotto" or "Cake" menu is selected, the Keep Warm light blinks when
cooking is complete.
Was the Keep Warm function used
continuously for more than 12 hours?
Was a stew kept warm for more than 6
hours?

Insert the power plug fully into an outlet.
Set the correct present time.

131ºF (55ºC) cannot be reheated.
Press the [Keep Warm/Cancel] key and
check that the Keep Warm light turns on.
Then, press the [Start] key again.
The elapsed Keep Warm time will blink
when the Keep Warm function has been
on for more than 12 hours.
The elapsed Keep Warm time will blink
when the Keep Warm function has been
on for more than 6 hours.
