Making Global System Settings (Utility mode)

In the Utility mode, you can set parameters that apply to the entire system of this instrument. To enter the Utility mode, press the
[UTILITY] button. Pressing the [EXIT] button returns to the original display. This section describes some useful functions in the
Utility mode.

Setting automatic power-on tasks

You can specify certain automatic tasks that the MOTIF XF
will perform when power is turned on.

Press the [UTILITY] button to enter the Utility
mode, then press the [F1] then [SF4] button to call
up the Auto Load Setup display.

Set the Auto Load to on or off.
When set to "on," the specified file on the USB storage
device will be loaded automatically when the power is
turned on. The file loaded automatically can be selected by
pressing the [SF5] SELECT button and the name of the
selected file will be shown on the display.

With the Power On Mode, select the Mode to be
called up when the power is turned on.

voice (USER1)
voice (PRE1)
voice (GM)

Press the [STORE] button to store this setting.

When turning the power on next time, the
Performance Play mode is entered and the first
program number (USR1: 001) is selected
automatically.
When turning the power on next time, the Voice
Play mode is entered and the first program
number of User Voices (USR1: 001) is selected
automatically.
When turning the power on next time, the Voice
Play mode is entered and the first program
number of Preset Voices (PRE1: 001) is selected
automatically.
When turning the power on next time, the Voice
Play mode is entered and the first program
number of Preset GM Voices (GM: 001) is
selected automatically.
When turning the power on next time, the Master
Play mode is entered and the first program
number (001) is selected automatically.
Selecting the Design Type of the
display
You can select the design type of the Top display in the
Voice mode, Performance mode and Master mode.

Press the [UTILITY] button to enter the Utility
mode, then press [F1] then [SF2] to call up the
Screen Setting display.

Move the cursor to the desired location then make
the desired setting by referring to the following
description.

The Top display of each mode will indicate
the current status of the Knob/Slider, etc.

The Top display of each mode will indicate
the on/off status of each Element/Part,
status of the panel controllers and the
status of the current Arpeggio, etc.
Name
Top
The number/name of the program (Voice,
Position
Performance or Master) is shown at the top
of the display.
Bottom
The number/name of the program (Voice,
Performance or Master) is shown at the
bottom of the display.
Color
One of the following color types can be selected
commonly for the three modes: Red, Pink, Purple, Blue,
Aqua, Green, Yellow, and White.

Press the [STORE] button to store this setting.
