Converting a Pattern Chain to a Song
Continuing the instructions from above, this next section
explains how to convert the created Pattern Chain to Song
data. This operation is necessary because Pattern Chain
data does not include note events but only information about
Section changes, meaning that you cannot add a melody
part to this accompaniment.
12
Press [PATTERN], [F5] Chain, then [EDIT] to
enter the Pattern Chain Edit mode.
13
Press the [SF3] Song button to call up the
"Convert to Song" window, then select a Song
having no data as the destination.
Here for example, set the Song to "04" and set the
Measure to "001." Enter a checkmark to the box of
"Without Program Change."
14
Press the [ENTER] button to execute the Convert
operation.
15
Press the [SONG] button, select Song 04, then
press the [R] (Play) button to hear the converted
Song data.
Recording Melodies
Finally, record the melody part with the backing parts
converted from the Pattern Chain.
16
In the Song Play mode, turn on the [TRACK
SELECT] lamp, then select a track having no
data by using the Number [1] – [16] buttons.
You can confirm which track has no data by viewing the
[F1] Track View display.
17
Press the [] (Record) button to enter the Song
Record Standby mode.
18
Set the Record Type to "replace."
19
Press the [R] (Play) button to start recording.
To record, wait for one measure of the Count In, then
begin playing.
20
Press the [] button to stop recording.
21
Press the [T] button to go back to the top of the
Song, then press the [R] (Play) button to hear
the recorded Song.
22
Press the [STORE] button to store the Song.
NOTICE
The Song data will be lost when turning the power off. Make sure to
execute the Store operation before turning the power off.
