Insert the Module vertically in the slot and face the screws
(of the Module) to the female screws respectively.
NOTE
Either slot can be inserted.

Press the top of the connector as shown, then push the
connector firmly into the slot.

Tighten each screw of the Memory Module to each female
screw of the MOTIF XF with your hand as shown below.

Attach another Module to the other slot, as desired.

Re-install the cover you removed in step 3, in
reverse order.

Check that the installed Module or Modules are
functioning properly.

Turn over the MOTIF XF so that the keyboard faces up
then turn the power on.
While launching, you will see the message indicating
that the Flash Memory Module cannot be recognized.

Press the [UTILITY] button to enter the Utility mode then
press the [F6] Flash button.

At the top left corner of this display, select the Flash
Memory Module number, "FL1" or "FL2."
NOTE
The FL512M/FL1024M has been installed properly if an
"Unformatted" indication appears at the right of the slot

number on the display; "Unmounted" is shown if it is not.
If "Unmounted" is shown though you have installed the
Module, execute the instructions again from step 1 then
check whether or not the Module has been installed
properly.

Press the [SF3] Format button to execute the Format
operation.
NOTICE
If you installed a second Memory Module in addition to the first one,
do not format the first Memory Module. Doing so will erase your
important data in the first Memory Module. Before executing the
format operation, make sure that "Unformatted" is shown at right of
the Slot number ("FL1" or "FL2") on the display.

If necessary, format the other Module by executing 6-3
and 6-4 again.

Check whether the Total size shown on the display is
correct or not.
When only one FL512M has been installed, "Total size
510M" is shown.
Removing the Module

Loosen both the screws.
NOTICE
• If you cannot loosen the screw with your hand, use a Phillips
screwdriver. In this case, be careful NOT to scratch the circuit
board of the FL512M/FL1024M and MOTIF XF.
• Since the screws can be removed from the module, be careful NOT
to drop them inside the instrument when loosening them.

Pull out the FL512M/FL1024M vertically.

Attach the cover to the bottom panel.
Locate the cover on the bottom panel so that screw holes
are fit then tighten the five screws with a Phillips screwdriver
to fix the cover.
