Connecting to a Computer
Installing a Printer and Fax Driver
(For Windows)
Note
You must be logged in as an administrator to complete this
procedure.
Ensure that your machine is turned off

and the USB cable is unplugged from the
computer.
Turn on the computer.

Insert "Software DVD-ROM" into the

computer.
Click [Run setup.exe] after [Auto

Play] is displayed.
If the [User Account Control] dialog box
appears, click [Yes].
Select the language and then click

[Next].
Select the device of your machine, and

then click [Next].
Read the license agreement and then
7
click [I Agree].
Read the "Environmental advice for
8
Users" and click [Next].
Select the checkbox of the printer driver,
9
fax driver or both you want to install, and
click the Install bunch button.
Memo
By factory default, [PCL driver], [Scanner driver],
and [ActKey] are selected.
All of drivers and software packages are installed by
the collective installation if their boxes are checked. If
you wish to install drivers and software separately,
click the Install button at the right to them and follow
the on-screen instructions.
If the [Windows Security] dialog box

appears, click [Install this driver
software anyway].
When the instruction prompting to

connect the machine to the computer
and turn on the machine appears, plug
the other end of the USB cable into the
computer's USB interface connector and
turn on your machine.
Note
Do not plug the USB cable into the network interface
connection. Doing so may cause a malfunction.
