To perform an emergency reset, hold down the Eject button between 5 to
15 seconds, and then release it.
IF there is . . .
no tape in the drive,
a tape in the drive,
If the emergency reset procedure does not eject the cartridge from the
drive, see Drive Does Not Eject the Tape Cartridge
Performing an Emergency Reset and Cartridge Eject
THEN the tape drive firmware . . .
restarts the drive and begins the Power On
Self Test function.
ignores all outstanding SCSI commands,
ejects the tape, restarts the drive, and begins
the Power On Self Test function.
