Setting the Real-Time Clock

The PCAN-Router Pro comprises a battery-buffered real-time clock
(RTC). The clock is accessed with the I/O functions
> RTC F0h (Special In) > RTC

The shipping configuration for the PCAN-Router Pro contains
entries you can enable and adjust, in order to set the time with a
CAN message. Those entries are deactivated by default to prevent
an accidental adjustment per CAN.
The following gives instructions about
the adjustment of the shipping configuration and the transfer to
the PCAN-Router Pro, and
the transmission of a CAN message with the Windows program
PCAN-View in order to set the time.
PCAN-View is supplied with a CAN interface of the PCAN series (e.g.
PCAN-USB).
Do the following to adjust the shipping configuration and to
transfer this to the PCAN-Router Pro:
1. Under Windows start the PPCAN-Editor.
2. Use File > Open or
ShippingConfig.ppproj from the supplied CD.
3. In the window CAN Objects on the tab General select the
symbol entry Router_CAN-1 > SetDateTime (7F8h).
