to the

seat.

the

guide and

o the
seat
without rotating it to make a
clear pattern.
NOTE
Th
e 10cJtion of the valve

in
relation

the valve face is very impo
rtant
for good ,;ealing.
If
the
conta
ct
area is
100 high on
t he valve,
the
seat
mu~t
be lowered using
a 32 degree
flat
cutter.
If
t
he contact area
is too low on
th
e
~alve.
the
,;eat must
be raised
using a
60
degrll<!
inner
cutter.
Refinish
the seat to
specif
icat
ions
uSlrlg a
45
degree
,;eat cu tter.
After cutting
the ,;eat.
apply lapping com·
po
und to the
va
l
~e
face and
lap
the
valve
us ing
light
pressure.
After
lapping.
wash all res
idual compound
off
the cyl
in
der head
and valve.

seals.

oil and

valves

Install the valve
spr ing seats
and val ve
springs

the
tight ly wound
