Rewritable Card Problems

Rewritable cards are erased and written to multiple times. Use the following information to
troubleshoot printing appearance when using rewritable cards.
Problem
A faint image is still
visible after erasing a
card.

Probable Cause
The erase power setting
is too low or too high.
The card was not erased
thoroughly.
The write power setting
is too high.
The card design includes
large printed areas.
The card has had the
same information or
graphics for an extended
period of time.
Solution
Log on to Printer Manager as WebAdmin.

Run a rewritable test card from the Printer

Manager TroubleShooting > Testcard
menu to see how you can fine tune the
erase power settings.
Open the Printer Setting > Print menu.

Modify the RewritableErasePower setting

and click Set Current to save your changes.
