Chapter 2: About the Printer

About the SD160 and SD260 Card Printers

The card printer applies images, text, and encoded data to plastic cards. It can print full color and
monochrome images, depending on the type of print ribbon installed. The SD160 printer also can
print on rewritable cards.
The printer is designed for lower volume card printing needs. It issues cards either one at a time
or in batches-up to 100 cards at a time. An optional 200 card input hopper also is available.
Additional options available for the card printer include magnetic stripe and smart card. The
configuration label on the printer shows the options installed. Refer to
for more information about recognizing the factory installed options on your card printer.
