4.7.3 Create a New Gatekeeper

Gatekeepers are only created for H.323 managed networks. In the case of the KX-TDA0480,
networks can also be managed through internal DNS facilities.
When used, up to two Gatekeeper devices can be created for each H.323 Zone. The first device
created is used as the primary device. Optionally, a secondary (e.g., backup) device can be
created.
WARNING
The Maintenance Console Software can only be used to configure an the Gatekeeper
device. To configure other Gatekeeper devices refer to the manufacturer's
documentation.
To create a Gatekeeper device, select the Group in which the device is to be located and then
select the New Gatekeeper item from the Unit menu.
Note
• Click the Toolbar Create Gatekeeper icon.
• Click the right mouse button in the Groups window pane and use the pop-up New
Gatekeeper menu item.
The MCS then displays the Setup Wizard for a Gatekeeper.
