Gatekeeper Folder
Use the Gatekeeper folder to enter the IP address for a primary and optional secondary
Gatekeeper.
• This information is recorded on the Common Configuration worksheet described in Section
2.2.4 Common Configuration Worksheet of this document, and can also be entered for
selected unit groups using the Edit Data/Edit Common Configuration items on the Unit
menu. See Section 4.8 for the procedure using the Common Configuration facility in the
Maintenance Console Software.
When an H.323 IP Gateway network is implemented, a Gatekeeper device must be configured
as part of the network. Provisions are also made for a secondary (backup) device in the
Gatekeeper Zone.
If no Gatekeeper is used, the KX-TDA0480's internal DNS features must be used. In this case,
no entries are required for Gatekeeper devices.
• When an H.323 Gatekeeper address is entered during unit configuration, the Gatekeeper
takes precedence over all other network management facilities. The KX-TDA0480 internal
DNS settings will be ignored.
