36.2 Host Name

A host name is the unique name by which a device is known on a network. Click System >
Host Name to open the Host Name screen.

36.3 Date and Time

For effective scheduling and logging, the ZyWALL system time must be accurate. The
ZyWALL's Real Time Chip (RTC) keeps track of the time and date. There is also a software
mechanism to set the time manually or get the current time and date from an external server.
To change your ZyWALL's time based on your local time zone and date, click System >
Date/Time. The screen displays as shown. You can manually set the ZyWALL's time and
date or have the ZyWALL get the date and time from a time server.

DESCRIPTION
Choose a descriptive name to identify your ZyWALL device. This name can be up to
64 alphanumeric characters long. Spaces are not allowed, but dashes "-" are
accepted.
Enter the domain name (if you know it) here. This name is propagated to DHCP
clients connected to interfaces with the DHCP server enabled. This name can be up
to 254 alphanumeric characters long. Spaces are not allowed, but dashes "-" are
accepted.
Click Apply to save your changes back to the ZyWALL.
Click Reset to begin configuring this screen afresh.
