Chapter 8 Interface
Like radio stations or television channels, each wireless network uses a specific channel,
or frequency, to send and receive information.
• Every wireless client in a wireless network must use security compatible with the AP.
Security stops unauthorized devices from using the wireless network and can protect the
information that is sent in the wireless network.
Click Network > Interface > WLAN to open the following screen. See
647
for more details on wireless LANs.

DESCRIPTION
Select this option to turn on the wireless LAN. It is recommended that you configure
the wireless security settings before you use this option to turn on the wireless LAN.
Select how wireless clients can connect to the ZyWALL. Using multiple bands at the
same time can reduce the transmission rate.
Select b Only to allow only IEEE 802.11b compliant WLAN devices to associate with
the ZyWALL.
Select g Only to allow only IEEE 802.11g compliant WLAN devices to associate with
the ZyWALL.
Select b+g to allow both IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g compliant WLAN devices
to associate with the ZyWALL.
Select b+g+n to allow IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11n compliant
WLAN devices to associate with the ZyWALL.
Select g+n to allow IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11n compliant WLAN devices to
associate with the ZyWALL.
This allows you to set the operating channel depending on your particular region.
Select a channel from the drop-down list box.
