Chapter 5 High Reliability Tools

5.1 RAID Management Tool

RAID Management Tool performs configuration, initialization and monitoring of the
hard disk array. For details, refer to the manual in the Array Controller Document &
Tool CD.
When the OS has been installed using ServerStart, RAID Management Tool has been also installed
together with the OS as well as other high reliability tools.
Before starting operation
Complete the following settings after the OS installation.
For details, refer to the manual in the Array Controller Document & Tool CD.
Setting an array administrator account
Set an array administrator account for RAID Management Tool (ServerView RAID).
A Windows user account is required when using ServerView RAID.
Create a group named "raid-adm", and create an account with any name for an array administrator
within the group "raid-adm".
Setting HDD Check Scheduler
When using a SAS array controller card (MegaRAID SAS), modify the settings of HDD Check
Scheduler if necessary. It has been set for 12 o'clock everyday as a default setting.
Setting Battery Recalibration Scheduler
When using a SAS array controller card (MegaRAID SAS) together with a battery backup unit, modify
the settings of Battery Recalibration Scheduler if necessary. It has been set for 11 o'clock on the first day
of every month as a default setting.
