Muffler
Check regularly that the muffler is complete and secured
correctly.
Temperature variations and vibrations can mean that the
tightening torque for the screws drops. The screws should be
checked when servicing to guarantee the correct torque. The
tightening toque should be about 10 Nm. Never use a
machine that has a faulty muffler.
WARNING! The muffler gets very hot in use
!
and remains so for a short time afterwards.
Do not touch the muffler if it is hot! Avoid
contact with hot surfaces on muffler,
cylinder etc. Contact can result in burns to
the skin. Remember the risk of fire.
Checking and adjusting the steering
wires
The steering is controlled by means of wires. These can in
time become slack, which implies that the adjustment of the
steering becomes altered.
Check and adjust the steering as follows:
• Remove the frame plate by loosening the screws (2) and
lift the frame plate by the rear edge.
• Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing
them together by the arrows as illustrated. It should be
possible to push them together so that the distance
between them is half as much, without using unnecessary
force.
Maintenance
4 If necessary, the wires can be adjusted by tightening the
adjuster nuts on each side of the steering collar.
Do not over tighten the cables; they should only be drawn
in towards the steering collar.
5 Unscrew the belt shields and the side protectors. The
protectors are fitted on both sides of the machine.
• Hold the cable, for example using an adjustable wrench,
so that it does not twist.
• If you only tension one side the steering wheel's centre
position may change.
• Check the wire tension on completion of the adjustment
as per item 2.
6 Screw on the belt shields and the side protectors.
Remember to use the right screws in each mounting.
