5.
Insert the sealant bottle in the compressor
housing so that it is standing upright.
6.
Ensure that the unit is switched off,
position 0.
7.
Insert plug 3 in the cigarette lighter socket
inside the car, see page 91.
8.
Turn ignition key to position 2:
Switch on the unit and allow it to run for
approx. 3 minutes to pump in the sealant.
The tyre's pressure at the end of this proc-
ess is irrelevant.
9.
Switch off the unit.
10.
Remove the connecting hose from the con-
nection on the sealant bottle and the tyre
valve.
Stow away the M Mobility System again in
the car.
Distributing sealant
Immediately drive approx. 3 km (about 2 miles)
so that sealant becomes evenly distributed
around the tyre's interior.
Do not exceed a speed of 60 km/h
(37 mph). If possible, maintain a speed
of at least 20 km/h (12
mph).<
Reinflating the tyre
1.
Stop in a suitable place after driving for
approx. 3 km (2 miles).
2.
Screw the hose 9 from the compressor
directly onto the tyre valve.
3.
Insert plug 3 into the cigarette lighter
socket inside the car.

4.
Adjust the tyre pressure to 2 bar (28.5 psi).
To do this, with ignition key in position 2:
>
To increase pressure: switch on the
compressor, position I. Switch the
device off briefly to gauge the current
tyre pressure.
Do not run the compressor for more
than 10 minutes, otherwise the unit
will overheat and could become dam-
aged.<
>
To reduce pressure: press 8 button or
turn 8 screw on the pressure gauge.
If the pressure is not maintained, take the
car for another drive, see Distributing
sealant. Then repeat steps 1 to 4 once.
Use of the M Mobility System may be ineffec-
tive for tyre damage measuring more than
approx. 4 mm (1/8th inch). Please contact the
nearest BMW Service, see page 184, or a work-
shop that operates to BMW specifications and
has suitably trained personnel if the tyre cannot
be rendered operational with the M Mobility
System.<
The tyre pressure must be at least 2 bar
(28.5 psi). If not, do not drive any further
on
it.<
Continuing the journey
Do not exceed the maximum permissible
speed of 80 km/h (50 mph), otherwise
there is a risk of
accidents.<
Reinitialise the Run Flat Indicator, see
page
71
for further notes.
Have the faulty tyre and the sealant bottle of the
M Mobility System replaced as soon as possi-
ble.<
