Replacing a Power Supply

These instructions explain how to remove a single power supply to replace it with a new one.
When adding a power supply, no interaction on the front panel or the remote management interface is
necessary. If the library is fitted with two power supply modules, then it is possible to replace the
power supply without switching off the power. For more information about replacing a second power

You must power off the library and remove power cords before performing

Required tools: None
1. Prepare the host application for system shutdown.
2. Access the back of the library, and locate the power supply. See Figure 37.
3. Turn off the power of the library using the switch on the rear.
NOTE: T40+: Please turn off both power switches. The T40 has only one power switch.
4. Remove the power cord(s).
NOTE: T40+: Please remove both power cords. The T40 has only one power cord.
5. Loosen the power supply thumbscrews. Please ensure you loosen both screws simultaneously.

6. Remove the power supply by gripping the thumbscrews and pulling the power supply towards
you.
7. Insert the new power supply into the empty power supply bay.
NOTE: The power supply must be installed horizontally level, and pushed gently into position.
Do not apply excessive force when performing this operation.
8. Secure the power supply by tightening the power supply thumbscrews simultaneously.
NOTE: It is important that the two thumbscrews are tightened simultaneously.
9. Plug in the power cord (For T40+: Plug in the power cord at the AC-inlet marked 1 ).
10. Turn on the power switch (For T40+: Turn on the power switch marked 1 ).
