8.11 INTERCOM OPERATION
An optional RAM3 ( CMP30 ) must be connected to perform intercom functions
between the radio and the RAM3 ( CMP30 ) .
In addition, To access the following Intercom functions one of the soft keys
must be setup as
8.11.1 Communication
1. Press the one of the Soft keys momentarily, then
press the
mode.
Note: Depending on the programming of the
soft key, the
soft key.
2. When the intercom mode is
enabled, "Intercom" is dis-
played on the radio and
RAM3 ( CMP30 ) Remote Sta-
tion Microphone.
3. Press the PTT switch on the
radio. "Talk" will be shown on
the display.
Note: A warning beep will be
heard if the PTT button on the
GX1600 and RAM3 ( CMP30 )
microphone are pushed simultaneously.
4. Speak slowly and clearly into the microphone, hold the microphone about
1/2 inch away from your mouth.
5. When finished, release the PTT switch.
6. Press the
8.12.2 Calling
Press the
( CMP30 ) mic will produce a calling beep to the other station.
