8.12 INTERCOM OPERATION
An optional CMP30 remote access microphone must be connected to
perform intercom functions between the radio and the RAM3.
8.12.1 Communication
1. Press
key, then press the
F
2. When two RAM3 ( CMP30 ) microphones are connected, turn the DIAL
knob to select the unit to be called ( RAM1 ", RAM2 ", ALL "), and then
press the
ENT
is displayed on the radio and the RAM3 ( CMP30 )
microphone.
4. Press the PTT switch on the
shown on the display.
Note: A warning beep will be
heard if the PTT switches of
the GX5500S's hand micro-
phone and RAM3 ( CMP30 )
m i c r o p h o n e a r e p u s h e d
simultaneously.
5. Speak slowly and clearly
into the microphone, hold
the microphone about 1/2
inch away from your mouth.
7. Press the
CLR
mode.
8.12.2 Calling
Pressing and holding the
radio or RAM3 ( CMP30 ) microphone will produce a calling beep to the other
station.
