ID bits that the receiver reads from the attached video cable. When using Avocent cables or
adapters, the receiver will always properly sense the type of source device. The receiver is also
able work properly with directly-attached third-party DVI-D/HDMI or RGBHV video cables.
Select your display device type as follows:
a.
DVI-D/HDMI: Plug-and-Play will properly detect DVI/HDMI display devices when
using third-party cables or adapters. You may also use the optional DVI-HDMI/CEC
adapter that is available from Avocent. The MPX1500 receiver is not able to generate
custom DVI-D/HDMI EDID information.
b.
RGBHV: Plug-and-play will work properly with directly attached third-party RGBHV
cables. The cables may be HD15-to-HD15 or HD15-to-DVI-A. If your display device is
not DDC2B compatible or if you wish explicit control over the resolutions available to the
source device, then select Manual (VGA) from the drop down list at this time and select
the resolutions that you wish to allow. Be careful to select only those resolutions that are
supported by your display device. It is only necessary to configure custom EDID
(resolutions) on receivers that may act as a primary receiver. The setting has no affect on
other receivers.
c.
YPbPr: Select Manual (Component) from the drop-down list at this time and select the
resolutions that you wish to allow. Be careful to select only those resolutions that are
supported by your display device. When configured in this manner, the receiver will
emulate a DDC2B-compliant source device.
NOTE: An MPX1500 receiver will not request video data from a transmitter unless one or more resolutions are
selected within the Manual (Component) configuration page.
d.
CV and YC: Plug-and-play will properly sense a composite video (CV) or S-Video (YC)
display device only if you use the optional Avocent component video cable, DVI-YCV,
with your receiver. Attach this cable onto the receiver at this time. Otherwise, if you wish
to use third-party cables, select Manual (S-Video/Composite) from the drop-down list at
this time.

MPX1000 receiver display device settings

For MPX1500 receivers, please skip to the next section.
The MPX1000 receiver is compatible with a digital input media module (MPX1000MR-HDMI)
that supports DVI-D and HDMI video and an analog input media module MPX1000MR-HD15)
that supports RGBHV and component video. Because the MPX receiver is able to read a unique
product ID from each module, it is not required to configure an MPX1000 receiver for digital or
analog media. Thus, MPX1000 Display Device Settings page is provided to allow you with the
ability to override the EDID information provided by an attached source device. You may wish to
do so if your display device does not properly support the EDID function or to restrict the source
device to specific resolutions.
