Replacing the Fuser Unit

The fuser unit is a component in the printer that uses heat and pressure to fuse toner onto paper. The fuser
unit becomes very hot when the printer is in use, so do not touch it. When you replace the fuser unit, also
replace the feed roller for Tray 1 at the same time.
When the fuser unit reaches its usable life-span, the following messages appear on the printer console.
Message
Replace Fuser Unit Soon.
Life Almost Over.
Caution:
Fuser Safety
When removing the fuser unit, always switch off first and wait for 40 minutes until it cools off.
Important:
To protect the drum cartridge from exposure to bright light, close the front cover within 3
minutes. If the front cover remains open for more than 3 minutes, print quality may deteriorate.
Replacement Procedure
Use the following procedure to replace the fuser unit.
1.
Switch off the printer and wait for 40 minutes for the fuser to cool down before removal.
2.
Push the side button (right side) and open the front cover.
3.
Hold the gray tab on the right side of the fuser unit, and the turn the right side of the fuser unit toward
the front of the printer.
Action
It is time to replace the fuser unit.
Replace the fuser unit.
