Xerox Printer Installation and Configuration
Considerations
Although the Xerox printer installation and configuration tasks are outside the scope of
this manual, special consideration should be given to the following aspects of these
tasks:

LAN considerations

Ethernet port configuration
Required printer software
LAN Considerations
Multiple printers can be attached to a single LAN and multiple LANs can be used. The
LAN on which the Xerox printer is installed can be shared with other LAN users.

Ethernet Port Configuration Considerations

To run a Xerox printer, you must define an Ethernet port to PAM (for G- and H-series
systems) or TLAM (for D-series systems).
For example, using SCF you would enter the following to configure an Ethernet PORT:
ASSUME LINE $lan
ADD PORT #name, TYPE ETHERNET, ADDRESS %H0600,
where
$lan
is the name of the TLAM or PAM I/O process.
#name
is a port name such as #XEROX.
TYPE
must be ETHERNET.
ADDRESS
must be %H0600; this is the defined address for XNS traffic.
DELIVERYMODE
must be parallel.
