Considerations for FASTPX25
The FASTPX25 print process allows you to use the Spooler to print documents on
printers connected to HP NonStop systems through an X.25 Wide Area Network
(WAN).
The X.25 WAN Print Spooler uses the following communications standards as defined
in the 1980 and 1984 CCITT recommendations:
Recommendation X.25, which defines a communications protocol used to access
public packet-switched networks.
Recommendation X.3, which defines the parameters used by a translation device
called a Packet Assembler Dissembler (PAD) that is used in conjunction with X.25.
Note. The X.25 WAN Print Spooler should work with any PAD-attached printer that can be
locally connected as a DTE device. However, HP cannot guarantee compliance with every
PAD and printer. Therefore, you are advised to try the printer/PAD/network combination before
committing to the use of this product.
The FASTPX25 environment consists of the following components:
FASTPX25 print process
