Low Oil Pressure Warning Light
Switch
Note:
The low pressure warning light may be
removed after first removing the rider's
seat and disconnecting the battery leads,
negative (black) lead first.
The low oil
pressure warning light switch is located at
the rear of the cylinder head.
Prolonged or repeated contact with engine oil can
lead to skin dryness, irritation and dermatitis.
Furthermore, used engine oil contains potentially
harmful contaminants that can cause cancer.
When handling used engine oil, always wear
protective clothing and avoid any skin contact with
the oil.
Do not pour engine oil on the ground, down sewers
or drains, or into watercourses. To prevent pollution
of watercourses etc., dispose of used oil sensibly. If
in doubt contact your local authority.
Removal
1.
Remove the rider's seat as described on page
17.9.
2.
Disconnect the battery, negative (black) lead first.
3.
Remove the right hand engine in-fill panel as
described in the body section.
4.
Remove the fuel tank as described on page
11.99.
5.
Remove the intake duct as described on page
11.104.
Lubrication
6.
Withdraw the rubber boot from the low oil
pressure warning light switch.

7.
Unscrew the electrical connection.

Note:
A small amount of oil will drain from the oil
gallery when the switch is removed.
8.
Position a suitable receptacle to collect any
displaced oil from the oil gallery.
9.
Unscrew and remove the switch.
