Clearing jammed paper
Clear the jammed paper following the procedures below;
JAM XXXX
XXXX indicates the tray number that contains jammed paper; Tray A2, Tray A3, Tray A4 or
Tray A5.
NOTE:
The paper trays and LCD panel descriptions in this manual are named as shown below.
Upper paper tray: Tray A2
Optional lower tray: Tray A3, Tray A4 or Tray A5
(1). Pull the paper tray out of the printer.
(2). Pull out the jammed paper.
Note
If you cannot pull out a small piece of jammed paper, you can remove it by turning the dial to
the lower position, as shown below.
(3). Load paper below the maximum paper mark. While pressing the blue paper-guide
release lever, slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. Check that the guides are firmly
in the slots.
(4). Put the paper tray back in the printer.
(5). Open the top cover of the printer, and then close it to resume printing.
