Removing Transmission Cover - BMW K 1100 LT/RS Repair Manual

Disassembling transmission (gear-
box)

Removing transmission cover.

•
Secure gearbox with holder (arrow "A"),
BMW No. 23 1 600, to assembly stand.
•
Engage neutral.
•
Release idle lock (1).
•
Remove coil (2) and ball (4).
•
Release screws (3).
•
Heat bearing seat in transmission cover to
100 °C
•
Evenly press off transmission cover at three
points (arrows).
