See Chapter 2, "Controls, Indicators, and Ports" for instructions on
checking the error log from the control panel LCD.
If the control panel LCD displays post code FF, the system board could be
bad.
Contact your support representative for assistance.
If the pass code on the control panel LCD changes from 00 to C0, and
there is no video display, ensure the video board is properly seated.
If the monitor is working, check the POST pass code it displays.
If the code is between #0 and 3Ah, and the code does not change, reseat the
HP NetServer's processor and memory boards and then reboot the
NetServer.
If none of the above measures works, clear CMOS and see if the HP
NetServer boots.
Check the HP NetServer's reference label for instructions on clearing
CMOS.

If clearing the CMOS does not solve the problem, refer to "If the HP
NetServer Passes the Post but Will Not Function" later in this chapter.
Run the Event Log Report Utility.

If the HP NetServer Passes POST but Will Not Function

Use these to steps and Table 12-1 to solve POST error problems.

If an error message displays on the screen, read the error message text for
recommended actions to take.
l
If the actions do not solve your problem, contact your reseller.
l
If there is no error message, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the HP NetServer and remove all external peripherals, except the
monitor and keyboard.
2. Boot from an internal hard drive and verify if the HP NetServer becomes
operational.
3. If the HP NetServer still is not operational, turn off the monitor, the
NetServer, and all external devices, and check the internal hardware, as
follows:
a. Unplug the power cord and all telephone cables.
