34-2
[ip] Reject IP packets. Internet Protocol. The underlying protocol for routing
packets on the Internet and other TCP/IP-based networks.
[arp] Reject ARP packets. Address Resolution Protocol is a protocol for mapping an
Internet Protocol address (IP address) to a physical computer address that is
recognized in the local network.
[netbios] Reject NetBIOS packets. (Network Basic Input/Output System) are TCP
or UDP broadcast packets that enable a computer to connect to and communicate
with a LAN.
[dhcp] Reject DHCP packets. Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol automatically
assigns IP addresses to clients when they log on. DHCP centralizes IP address
management on central computers that run the DHCP server program. DHCP
leases addresses, for a period of time, which means that past addresses are
"recycled" and made available for future reassignment to other systems.
[eapol] Reject EAPol packets. EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol, RFC 2486)
over LAN. EAP is used with IEEE 802.1x to allow additional authentication
methods (besides RADIUS) to be deployed with no changes to the access point or
the wireless clients.
[igmp] Reject IGMP packets. Internet Group Multicast Protocol is used when
sending packets to a specific group of hosts.
[none] Accept all packets.
