Errors at PT Startup
Symptoms
Indicators are not
lit.
Indicator remains
orange and screen
is empty.
Indicators flash
green and buzzer
alternates ON and
OFF.
Screen is empty
and indicators
flash green.
The indicator is lit
green and the
screen is blank.
The screen is
blank and the in-
dicator is flashing
red.
The indicator is lit
red and the screen
is blank.
Cause
Power not supplied to the
PT.
Power supply fuse
broken.
System program
corrupted. (Fatal error.)
System program
corrupted. (Fatal error.)
Cannot check Memory
Card.
Backlight failure.
Automatic upload/
download has ended
normally.
The system program is
corrupted (non-fatal er-
ror). The combination of
NS-series PT hardware
and system program ver-
sion is incorrect.
In the following cases,
project data was
downloaded without
clearing the log data
saved in the NS.
• A project was
downloaded to the
NS-series PT in which
settings
related to history, such as
alarm/ event or data log
settings, have been
changed.
• An attempt was made to
download a project that
was different from the
project saved in the NS.
Automatic up-
load/download has ended
abnormally.
The PT is faulty,
or the system
program is
corrupted.
Possible countermeasure
Check the connections and supply power correctly to the PT.
(Refer to 3-1 Installing the PT in the NS Series Setup Man-
ual.)
The PT must be repaired. Contact your nearest OMRON
representative.
The PT must be repaired. Contact your nearest OMRON

Use an OMRON specified Memory Card.

Manual.)
Replace the backlight.
Contact your nearest OMRON representative.
This is not an error. To return to normal operation, set all DIP
switches to OFF and cycle the PT power.
Recovery/update the system program. (Refer to 3-6 Using
Memory Cards in the NS Series Setup Manual (Cat. No.
V083).)
Contact your nearest OMRON representative if the same
problem occurs after recovering/updating the system pro-
gram.
Download the project data again. When downloading the
project data again, be sure to clear the log data saved in the
NS.
The system program may be corrupted. Reinstall the system
program.
(Refer to 3-6 Using Memory Cards in the NS Series Setup
Manual (Cat. No. V083).)
If the same problem occurs after reinstalling the system pro-
gram, the PT may be faulty. Contact your nearest
OMRON representative.
An attempt may have been made to transfer screens that are
larger than the memory of the PT. Check the screen data at
the transfer destination.
Reinstall the system program. (Refer to 3-6 Using Memory
Cards in the NS Series Setup Manual (Cat. No. V083).)
If the same problem occurs after reinstalling the system pro-
gram, the PT may be faulty. Contact your nearest
OMRON representative.
