Maintaining Columns and Bus Components
Replace the Filter in the Split Vent Line

Gather the following:
•
New filter cartridge.

Prepare for maintenance.
•
Cool down any hot, exposed component that is on top of
the GC that you might contact when accessing the split
vent filter.
•
Turn off the split vent flow.

Remove the split vent trap cover (top, back of GC).
The split vent trap may contain residual amounts of any samples
or other chemicals you have injected into the GC. Follow your
company's safety procedures for handling these types of
substances while replacing the trap filter cartridge.
