5.10.2 Thread regulator spring

Checking of tension power:
•
Thread an approx. 30m long piece of thread into thread
regulator.
•
Attach the two thread ends to the BERNINA tension spring
scales 006038.50.00.
•
Slowly move the scales up.
•
As soon as the regulator spring is moved, the value must be
12g – 15g.
Note: Check if the scales is set to zero (calibrated).
Correction of tension:
•
Slightly loosen screw 17 (T10).
•
Turn thumb wheel16 to tighten or slacken the tension.
•
Retighten screw 17 (T10).
Check position:
•
Regulator spring 15 must
sit on regulator spring
stop 12.
•
At the same time there
must be a distance of
1.6+/–0.3mm between
spring and cover.
Correction of position:
•
Slightly loosen screw 6
(T10).
•
Adjust regulator spring
stop as appropriate until a
distance of 1.6mm is
reached.
•
Retighten screw 6.
