4.3.6 Hook race ring

Disassembly:
•
Remove covers
•
Remove needle, presser foot and hook.
•
Loosen screws 9 (T20 M4X10) and 22
(T8 M3X6) and remove stitch plate frame.
•
Remove hook race cover and two screws 18
(T20 M4X10 flat).
•
Loosen screw 8 and remove hook drive and
spring washer.
•
Loosen three screws 13 (T20 M4X16) and
U-washers, then remove hook race ring
•
Loosen two screws 12 (T8 M2.5X4) and
remove thread-guiding plate and thread-
positioning plate.
Assembly:
•
Reattach thread-guiding plate and thread-
positioning plate to hook race ring and fasten
with two screws 12 (T8 M2.5X4). For adjusting
refer to (Chapter 5 Item 5.5.2 Position of
thread-guiding plate and thread-positioning
plate).
•
Reattach 3 shperical washers to the machine
frame and position hook race ring and hook
race ring gauge 006765.71.00.
•
Position three screws 13 (T20 M4X16 with
U-washer) without tightening them yet.
•
Fasten stitch-plate frame with screws 9
(T20 M4X10) and 22 (T8 M3X6).
•
Refit stitch plate.
•
Place feed-dog adjusting gauge 398024.03.1+
onto stitch plate.
•
Turn handwheel to move feed-dog to highest
level.
•
Turn hook race ring until the distance under
the feed-dog adjusting gauge is the same on
both sides.
•
Retighten three screws 13.
•
Slightly raise toothed-rack shank and insert hook drive and spring washer. Check correct positioning:
hook drive left of thread passage to lug of thread guiding plate (picture a).
•
Retighten screw 8.
•
Loosen screw 5 (T6) and adjust clearance of maximum 0.1mm to hook race ring. Retighten screw 5
(picture b).
•
Reattach hook race cover with two screws 18 (T20 M4X10 flat).
•
Check hook settings
•
Adjust feed-dog movement
•
Refit covers.
•
Fine-adjust balance
•
Calibrate speed (Chapter 6 Item II. Speed control
•
Functional check.
•
Sewing-off.
