8.1.4.4
Purging gas connections
Overview
When measuring toxic or corrosive gases, the gas path may start to leak and sample gas can
accumulate in the device. This means that devices, in particular those that are used in hazardous
areas, must be purged with purging gas (oil-free dry air or inert gas). The gas to be discharged
by purging must be routed via an exhaust gas line for environmentally-friendly disposal.
The purging gas connection is solely available for wall-mounted devices and can be ordered
optionally.
Note
Open purging gas connections
If the device is not purged, close the purging gas connections with Swagelok pipe plugs
(SS-12MO-C, included in scope of delivery).
