The SO command causes the printer to print
characters, spaces,
and backspaces double their normal width for one
line.

column width used by the printer is not affected by the command

Select 17-Pltch Font (Compressed Print Mode)
The SI command functions in two ways depending on the position
of setup switch 4 in Switch Group

When switch

off,
this command selects a 17-pitch font.
The embedded Courier 17-pitch font is selected unless a
pluggable font is being used and it contains a 17-pitch
font.
In
this
case,
the selection will be made from the pluggable font
cartridge.

When switch 4 is
on,
the command is recognized by the
printer but no action is taken
