To connect the server to power
1. Plug the server's AC power cord into the server's rear panel.
2. Plug the other end into a wall receptacle or power bar.
To start the server
1. Press the server's power switch to start the server.
2. Observe the Power-On Self-Test (POST) and initialization messages on the monitor.
3. Windows 2000 Professional will start and logon automatically (This applies to all post-GA
shipped servers with PEP13 or above installed only.

WARNING
Risk of personal injury and risk of hardware failure
You must connect the power outlets that are used by the
HMS 400 server and its peripheral devices to the same
single-point ground reference as the one used by the
Meridian 1 switch connected to the HMS 400 server.
If this requirement is not met, power transients can cause
personal injury, hardware failure, or both. For more
information on single-point grounding requirements, refer
to the discussion on safety guidelines in HMS 400
Installation and Configuration Guide.
