• Loosen the locknut "2".
• With the clutch push lever fully pushed in
direction "c", turn the short clutch push rod
"3" in or out until projection "a" aligns with
mark "b".
• Hold the short clutch push rod to prevent it
from moving and then tighten the locknut
to specification.

8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m, 5.9 lb·ft)

14.Install:
• Clutch cover oil seal "1"
(with a help of bearing punch "2" and suitable
attachment)
Installed depth of oil seal from
the end face "a"
35.9–36.4 mm (1.41–1.43 in)

TIP
• Apply engine oil to inside surface of cover boss
and outside surface of oil seal.
• Oil seal spring direction "b" shall be cover in-
side.
• Oil seal lip shall be free from damage.

15.Install:
• Clutch cover
Clutch cover bolt
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 lb·ft)
TIP
Tighten the clutch cover bolts in the proper tight-
ening sequence as shown.
16.Adjust:
• Clutch cable free play
Refer to "ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH LEVER
FREE PLAY" on page 3-11.
