e. Remove the screwdriver, make sure the
timing chain tensioner rod releases, and
then install the timing chain tensioner cap.
5. Turn:
• Crankshaft
(several turns counterclockwise)
6. Check:
• "I" mark "a"
Align the "I" mark on the magneto rotor with
the stationary pointer "b" on the magneto cov-
er.
• "I" mark "c"
Align the "I" mark on the camshaft sprocket
with the stationary pointer "d" on the camshaft
stopper plate.
Out of alignment → Correct.
Refer to the installation steps above.

7. Tighten:
• Camshaft sprocket bolt
Camshaft sprocket bolt
30 N·m (3.0 kgf·m, 22 lb·ft)
ECA20610
Be sure to tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt
to the specified torque to avoid the possibil-
ity of the bolt coming loose and damaging
the engine.
8. Install:
• Water pump assembly with its new O-ring
and tighten the water pump housing bolts
with specified tightening torque.
Water pump bolt
10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7.4 lb·ft)
• Radiator and radiator hoses. Fill the coolant
to the radiator.
• Crankshaft end accessing screw and Tim-
ing mark accessing screw with its new
O-ring
• All removed parts
Refer to "CYLINDER HEAD" on page 5-7.
• Rider seat
Refer to "GENERAL CHASSIS (1)" on page
4-1.
9. Measure:
• Valve clearance
Out of specification → Adjust.
Refer to "ADJUSTING THE VALVE CLEAR-
ANCE" on page 3-4.

Intake
0.10–0.14 mm (0.0039–0.0055 in)
Exhaust
0.21–0.25 mm (0.0083–0.0098 in)
