Inspect the Tires and Wheels
(including torque)
Genie specifications require that this procedure be
performed quarterly.
Maintaining the tires and wheels, including proper
wheel fastener torque, is essential to safe
operation and good performance. Tire and/or
wheel failure could result in a machine tip-over.
Component damage may also result if problems
are not discovered and repaired in a timely
fashion.
Bodily injury hazard. An over-
inflated tire can explode and
could cause death or serious
injury.
Tip-over hazard. Do not use
temporary flat tire repair
products.
Note: The tires on some machines are foam-filled
or solid rubber and do not need air added to them.

Check all tire treads and sidewalls for cuts,
cracks, punctures and unusual wear.

Check each wheel for damage, bends and
cracked welds.

Models with Lug Nuts: Check each lug nut
for proper torque. Refer to Specifications,
Machine Specifications.
Models with Castle Nuts: Remove the cotter
pin and check the castle nut for proper torque.
Refer to Specifications, Tire and Wheel
Specifications.
Note: Always replace the cotter pin with a new one
when removing the castle nut or when checking
the torque of the castle nut.

Check the pressure in each air-filled tire.

operation and good machine performance.
Hydrostatic brakes, hydraulically and electrically
released, spring-applied individual wheel brakes
can appear to operate normally when they are
actually not fully operational.

Check each drive hub disconnect cap to be
sure it is in the engaged position.
