2) Change the Bright area target potential ofst VL entry in VL-OFST to "-30" in Service Mode > Mode List >
COPIER > Adjust > VCONT (adjustment range: -30 to +30)
3) Go to Service Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Function> DPC > DPC and enter "1" to press OK button.
4) Turn OFF/ ON the main power. This executes potential control using the setting value changed in Step 2).
5) Output and check the image in question. If the light image improves, the work is completed.
- If the light image occurs again, go to "a) When the light image recurs."
- If faulty images such as foggy image or smeared image appears, go to "b) when image errors such as
foggy image or smeared image occur."
[Caution]
- When checking image density or the width of thin lines, be sure to use images the customer are using.
- Do not output grid in Service Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Test > PG > TYPE > 1 to check the image.
This can be mistaken for a solution because the output of grid lines becomes wider and darker.
a) When the light image recurs:
a-1) Change the dark area target potential ofst VD entry in VD-OFST to "+30" in Service Mode > Mode List >
COPIER > Adjust > VCONT. (adjustment range: -30 to +30)
a-2) Go to Service Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Function > DPC > DPC and enter "1" to press the OK
button.
a-3) Turn OFF/ON the main power. This executes potential control using the setting value changed in Step
a-1).
a-4) Output and check the image in question. If the light image improves, the work is completed. When faulty
images such as foggy image or smeared image occur, go to a-5).
a-5) Decrease the dark area target potential ofst VD entry in VD-OFST by "10" in Service Mode > Mode List
> COPIER > Adjust > VCONT.
a-6) Go to Service Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Function > DPC > DPC and enter "1" to press OK button.
a-7) Turn OFF/ON the main power. This executes potential control using the setting value changed in Step
a-5).
a-8) Output and check the image in question. If the foggy image or smeared image improves, the work is
completed. When faulty images such as foggy image or smeared image occur, repeat Steps a-5) to a-8)
once again and check the image.
b) When image errors such as foggy image or smeared image occur:
b-1) Add "10" to the bright area target potential ofst VL entry in VL-OFST and enter the figure in Service
Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Adjust > VCONT. (adjustment range: -30 to +30)
b-2) Go to Service Mode > Mode List > COPIER > Function > DPC > DPC and enter "1" to press OK button.
b-3) Turn OFF/ON the main power. This executes potential control using the setting value changed in Step
b-1).
b-4) Output and check the image in question. If the light image improves, the work is completed. When faulty
images such as foggy image or smeared image occurs, repeat Steps b-1) to b-4) once again, and then
check the image.
