Installing the Internal Batteries

The UPS battery trays are heavy (28.1 kg/62 lb). A minimum of two people are required to lift
the battery trays into the UPS chassis.
To install the battery trays into the UPS chassis:

NOTE The upper front cover is provided in the E64 UPS carton and the lower front cover is
provided in the E64 accessory kit.

Locate the cartons labeled "Battery Tray" (IBM PN 42R4316).
Verify that the battery circuit breaker on the UPS rear panel is in the
OFF position (see Figure 16 on page 17).
Slide the battery trays into the chassis (see Figure 9).

Secure the battery trays to the chassis with the battery retaining
bracket and screws provided in the E64 accessory kit (see
Figure 10).

Install the UPS front covers (see Figure 11).
