When all the hardware has been checked, confirm the diagnostic check
results.
If the display is red and the message "Check Result TEST FAILED" is
displayed, you can assume that there is a problem with the computer's
hardware. Confirm which hardware component is displayed as red, and
contact your technical support office.
If the display is green and the message "Check Result TEST PASSED"
is displayed, the computer's hardware is operating normally. Continue
using the computer as it is. If the computer still does not operate
properly, reinstall the software (  page 81).
NOTE
If you run a memory diagnostic check after installing a new RAM module (sold separately) and the
message "Check Result TEST FAILED" is displayed:
Remove the additional RAM module and run the diagnostic check again. If the message "Check Result
TEST FAILED" is still displayed, you can assume that there is a problem with the internal RAM module.

After the diagnostic check is complete, click
[close], or press
computer.
CAUTION
The CD/DVD drive is noisy when [Optical Drive Power] is set to [On] in
the [Main] menu of the Setup Utility.
When the Icon Becomes Gray and the Corresponding Device Cannot Be Checked
Follow the instructions below. If the problem persists, contact your technical support office.
The device is disabled in the Setup Utility:
[Optical Drive Power] is set to [On] in the
[Main] menu of the Setup Utility:
The SD icon is gray:
The computer is not recognize the device
temporarily.
The USB icon is gray:
The USB 2.0 port is disabled, or the USB
3.0 port is damaged.

Set [Optical Drive Power] to [On] in the Setup Utility.
Turn off the computer and turn on it again.
Set [USB Port] to [Enabled] in the [Main] menu of the Setup
Utility.
If the icon remains gray, the USB 3.0 port may be damaged.
