Clearing the event log: Use this action to clear the current contents of the Notification Manager event
viewer. This action does not clear or delete the event logging file.
1. Select Clear the event log from the File menu.
2. Select Notification Manager from the menu.

Using the Security Manager

You can use the Security Manager to give users the ability to configure and view controller information
from remote systems.
Security is enabled by default. You must configure at least one user name and password before any user
can connect to the local system. You can disable security by selecting Disable security from the Actions
menu. If you disable security, any user can establish a connection with the local system and modify the
RAID subsystem. This might create security concerns in a working environment.
The first time you open the Security Manager, it prompts you to type an Admin (administrator) password.
Either type a password or click Cancel to not have an Admin user.
To start the Security Manager, select Open Security Manager from the Actions menu. You can use the
Security Manager to do the following:
Add a user
Delete a user
Modify a user
Note: You cannot use the Security Manager in Bootable-CD mode.
Adding a user: Use this action to permit a new user access to the local system (that is, this system).
1. Click Add user
2. Fill in all the entry fields appropriately for the user you want to add. User name, Password, and
Confirm password are required fields.
Note: The password is case sensitive.
3. Click Add.
4. You can continue adding more users or click Cancel to close the window.
Deleting a user: Use this action to revoke access to the local system for a selected user.
1. Click the user you want to delete from the Security List.
2. Click Delete user
3. The ServeRAID Manager deletes the user from the Security List.
Modifying a user: Use this action to modify a selected user's user name or password.
1. Click the user you want to modify from the Security List.
2. Click Modify user
